Julie Powell, MSW, LCSW
Julie Powell, MSW, LCSW, specializes in the needs of individuals and families adjusting to medical/ psychiatric illness and disability. Julie has a special interest in supporting and empowering parents of children with special needs. She has post graduate training in family therapy as well as treatment techniques for working with people suffering with eating disorders, ill health and psychiatric illness.
Julie utilizes various methods in enabling her clients to live better, more fulfilling lives. Each client requires a personal treatment plan and she works together with them to ensure the methodology utilized is meeting their specific needs.
She has been in practice since 1990, and brings the benefit of having many ways of knowing about illness and injury in the family. She was a Social Worker at New York University Medical Center for several years and has also had first hand experience in the rehabilitation of a developmentally disordered child.
Julie looks forward to meeting all potential clients with enthusiasm, compassion and competency.
